When done correctly, curing significantly increases the strength and durability of concrete. Curing is the process of accelerating the hydration process. During the curing process, water is supplied and the temperature of the concrete is kept within a particular range. This encourages hydration and reinforces the concrete. Curing time is usually between five and seven days. To moisten new concrete, sprinklers, hoses, wet burlap, or curing chemicals that seal in moisture can all be used. Because temperature has an effect on the curing process, our concrete experts know when to avoid pouring and curing concrete. When curing on hot days, the excess moisture in the concrete evaporates. If the temperature gets extremely close to freezing, hydration will happen at a snail's pace. If the concrete is cured at temperatures below freezing, the water within it will freeze, ruining the interior structure. Concrete requires an acceptable temperature to strengthen. Throughout the curing process, the temperature of new concrete must not fall below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
